Abstract: This study explored the effectiveness of parent-participated intervention programs for magnetic resonance (MRI) examinations in infants and young children. 102 infants and young children needed MRI examination were selected, and divided them into control group with 51 cases undergoing routine care and observation group with 51 cases undergoing parenta-participated intervention. The examination conditions, image quality, stress response indexes at different time points [heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP)], adverse reactions and parents' satisfaction were compared between the two groups. The results showed that the one-time success rate and inspection compliance rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the use rate of phenobarbital sodium and the average inspection time was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The image quality of the observation group was better than the control group (P<0.05). After 15 minutes and the end of inspection, the HR and MAP of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). The satisfaction of parents in observation group was higher 574than that in control group (P<0.05). Therefore, parent-participated intervention is beneficial to MRI examinations of infants and young children.
