Abstract:

Perfluoroalkylation, especially trifluoromethylation has long been a hot research area in synthetic organic chemistry. In addition, visible light photoredox catalytic organic transformations have attracted great attention due to their inherent green feature. Recently, visible light photoredox catalysis has been successfully applied to a series of trifluoromethylation reactions. In this review, we will highlight the recent advancement in this field and organize the review article according to trifluoromethyl sources.

Key words: trifluoromethylation, photoredox catalysis, oxidative quenching, reductive quenching
