Abstract: Nanosilver colloid solution was prepared using natural cellulose fibers as solid phase dispersion matrix.Silver ions absorbed by the polar hydroxyl and ether groups of natural cellulose fibers were immersed in NaBH4 solution of low concentration, and reduced into nanoparticles after desorp-tion from the fibers.Compared to traditional methods, our synthesis proceeded mildly and without any additional stabilizer. The silver nanoparticles prepared were monodisperse and stable for at least one year. The enhanced fluorescence indicated that without the hindrance of macromolecular stabi-lizer,nanosilver colloid solution gave remarkable enhancing effect on fluorescent property in relative low concentration of silver nanoparticles.
