Abstract: The self-assembly of CBPQT and N-P4-N has been well evidenced by 1HNMR,UV-vis and fluorescence measurements.Time-resolved spectroscopy revealed that photoinduced electron transfer from N-P4-N to CBPQT takes place in this assembly with rate constant kCS> 1.0×108s-1,charge recombination kCR=1.26×103s-1,and the charge-separation has a life-time up to 794 μs in acetonitrile at room temperature.

Key words: supramolecular D-A system, photo-induced electron transfer, charge separation, viologen radical
