Synthesis,Structure and Photochromic Properties of N-ethyl-9'-n Bromobutoxy Spirooxazine and Its Modified PMMA

Abstract:

N-ethyl-9'-n bromobutoxy-spirooxazine (Br-SO) containing active C-Br bond was designed and synthesized. The modified PMMA (Ploy (methacrylic acid methyleater)) was prepared by reacting Br-SO containing active C-Br bond with partially hydrolyzed PMMA (hPMMA). The structure and photochromic properties were studied by 1HNMR, infrared and UV-Vis spectra. The results indicate that both Br-SO and SO-hPMMA have been synthesized, and they exhibit a good photochromic performance. Especially, SO-hPMMA has the better thermal stability as compared with Br-SO.
