Abstract: In this paper, 4-(bromomethyl) benzophenone was synthesized from 4-methylbenzophenone. Then, a new type of photoinitiator (MBPBP) containing benzophenone structure was synthesized by using 4-hydroxybenzophenone and 4-(bromomethyl) benzophenone as raw materials. The structure was determined by 1HNMR spectroscopy. The UV absorption and photodegradation properties were studied by UV absorption spectroscopy. The effect of photoinitiator concentration, light intensity and reaction monomer on photopolymerization was analyzed by RT-FTIR. The results show that the molar extinction coefficient of MBPBP is about 1.5 times of that of benzophenone, and the absorption range is increased to 300 nm. The light absorption efficiency is much higher than that of the traditional benzophenone. It is a kind of efficient photoinitrogenation agent.
