Abstract: 2-[2-(9-Pentyl-carbazol-3-yl)-vinyl]-1,3,3-trimethyl indolium iodide (I) was synthesized and its photophysical properties were investigated. The properties of two-photon induced polymerization for acrylate resin with compound I as the initiator were studied on laser power, scanning speed and initiator concentration. The results showed that the threshold laser energy for resin was 139 kJ/cm2 when 0.88% of I was used as initiator and the threshold exposure time was 0.7 ms when the laser energy was 286 kJ/cm2.
