Abstract: The effects of Ca2+, Ba2+ ion on sensitometric properties and aging stability of PTG materials, using AgSt as silver sources, ex-situ formed AgBr as photosensitive component, and PVA as binder, were investigated. The results showed that the sensitivity and the fog of PTG materials were all decreased at different degrees when adding Ca2+ or Ba2+ to system before coating, and sensitivity was debased quickly with the increase of percentage of Ca2+ or Ba2+. In addition, the changing trend of the sensitivity and the fog of PTG materials which contained Ca2+ was not consistent with that of Ba2+ as the aging time went on.

Key words: photothermographic materials, Ca2+, Ba2+, sensitometric property, stability
