Abstract: In the presence of anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS), the chemiluminescence (CL) intensity of tris-(1,10-phenanthroline)ruthenium(Ⅱ)( Ru(phen)32+)-KMnO4 system could be greatly enhanced by Cysteine, based on which, a novel CL method for the determination of Cysteine was developed. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear range and detection limit of the proposed method were 2. 5×10-2-2.0μg·mL-1 and 2.1×10-2 μg·mL-1, respectively. The relative standard deviation (R. S. D.) of determining 11 solutions containing 0.5 μg·mL-1 Cysteine was 5.3%. This CL method has been successfully applied to the determination of Cysteine in the synthetic samples. The mechanism of CL reaction was also studied.
