Abstract: The resonance scattering (RS), fluorescence, adsorption spectra and mean diameters of Te(Ⅳ)-I--RhB liquid phase nanoparticles under different conditions were studied. The results show that fluorescence quenching and enhancement of RS intensity were obviously observed due to the formation of [(RhB)4(TeI8)]n nanoparticles. Their average diameters increased with the concentration of Te(Ⅳ) in the range of 0-20 μg/L. The maximum resonance scattering peak was at 623 nm. The cube root of I623 nm/623 nm was proportional to the average diameter of the nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were characterized by ICP-AES, EA. The results indicate that the molecular formula was (RhB)4 (TeI8).
