Abstract: Au/TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared by means of dipping method. X-ray electron spectroscopy(XPS)and transmission electron microscop(TEM)were used to characterize the as-prepared Au/TiO2. The testing results indicated that the average size of deposited Au was 4-6 nm, and that the binding energy of Au 4f7/2 was located at 83.3 eV, 0.7 eV lower than that of bulk Au (84.0 eV). With photocatalytic oxidation of propylene as model reaction, the photocatalytic property of Au/TiO2 was measured. The experimental result revealed that the photoactivity of Au/TiO2 was higher than that of TiO2, and that the activity of Au/TiO2 increased as depositing amount of Au increased from 0.1% to 5.0%.
