Abstract: Several aromatic diazo salts were synthesized. The absorption peak of 1 at 343 nm can overlap very well with the laser of 355 nm. The absorption maxima of 2 and 3 are located at 453 nm and 433 nm respectively, which can greatly overlap with the high-pressure mercury lamp. These peaks expend the overlap with the high-pressure mercury lamp in the visible region. 2 exhibited better thermal stability than 3.

Key words: aromatic diazo salts, spectra overlap, thermal stability, photo-stability
