Abstract: In this paper, the effect of the duration between exposure and development on properties of dichromated gelatin(DCG) holography was studied from two parts of diffraction efficiency and Cr2P3/2XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectrum). It was found that the duration between exposure and development influenced greatly diffraction efficiency and Cr2P3/2XPS. The relative intensity of Cr2P3/2XPS close to 576.4 eV in exposed DCG and the diffraction efficiency of DCG hologram have almost similar change tendancy with duration between exposure and development.Namely, during this duration they all experienced increasing, reaching a maximum, decreasing and finally going to zero. From these experimental results it was indicated that the diffraction efficiency of DCG hologram depends on the relative intensity of Cr2P3/2XPS close to 576.4 eV in exposed DCG.
