A series of emulsions with the iodide content of 30mol% in core and with the core/shell ratio of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 was prepared by combined core-precipitation and shell-formation with the double-jet technique. The micro-component analysis in the individual single crystal was conducted with the STEM-EDS method. It was shown that in the emulsion micro-crystal really exists the composite structure of iodide-rich core and iodide-poor shell, and what is more, the surface iodide concentration decreased with increasing core-shell ratio. The light absorption was measured by UV-240 spectrophotometer. The ionic and photo-electron conductivities were determined by dielectric loss measurement and microwave photo-conductivity method respectively. It was shown that the light absorption values for the 4 different emulsion microcrystals were found to be no essential difference as a result of the combined influence of two different contradictory factors the decrease of total iodide content and the increase of grain size of the microcrystals. The photo-conductivity signal intensity enhances with increasing core/shell ratio, the photoelectron lifetime becomes the longest for emulsion No.3, the core-shell ratio of which is 1:3.The corelations between the above-mentioned photophysical and electric properties, and the sensitometric behavour were presented and discussed.

A series of emulsion microcrystals with different iodide content was prepared with double-jet method.Their light absorbtion was measured by U.V.spectrometry.Their ionic conductivity and photoelectron conductivity were determined with dielectric loss and microwave photoconductivity methods respectively. It was shown that the light absorbtion ionic conductivity and photoelectron conductivity enhance with the iodide content increase. The photoelectron decay obeys a second order reaction kinetic process. The iodide incorporation into the microcry.stals and the truncated technology made it possible to multiply the sensitivity of the cubic emulsion microcrystals.

=500nm when Φ>0.4, suggesting aggregate formation of 1 This is accompanied by the increase in dansyl fluorescence and the decrease in naphthyl fluorescence if excited at 280nm.due to the enhancement of energy transfer from naphthyl to dansyl group in aggregate. The efficiencies of the energy transfer are 18% and 90% before and after the aggregate formation respectively.Measurements of fluorescence lifetime of dansyl group and the experients by using different excitation wavelength demonstrate the existence of the equilibrium of 1 btween inside and outside of the aggregate.

In this work, the electronic spectra of dimethylamino-benzylideneimine were investigated. The result shows that charge transfer from a donor located at the end of molecule to an acceptor at the other end of the conjugated molecule 3 in theground state occurs, the absorption wave-length of 3 shifts from 315 nm to 405 nm comparing with 1.No charge transfer for compounds 4, 5, 6 are observed in the ground state, but the electron transfer occurs obviously in the excited state, this make the intensity of fluorescence decrease strongly. The fluorescence quenching of compound 1 by MMA also is observed, it indicates that an electron transfer occursbetween 1 and MMA.The fluorescence of 1 decreases after addition of acrylic acid owing to the hydrolysis of Schiff bases.

Photoacoustic colorimetry (PAC) was first proposed. It is believed that the unnormalized photoacoustic spectrum can be taken directly by CIE standard colori-metric system to get the dominant wavelength (hue), purity (chroma) and lightness (value), by matching of spectral tristimulus values.Several PAC experiments of Fogra Pms control strips, dyes, color papers, soils, fluorescent and biological materials etc.were made.

The action of dibenzo-18-crown-6 as a growth modifier in the preparation of epitaxial silver halide emulsion and its complexation to silver halide crystallite were studied.Because of the complexation, the active sites (edges and corners) of the silver halide grains are partially dissolved and new crystal faces (100) come into sight, so that the crystallite could take a more stable state.Because the dibenzo-18-crown-6 can increase the solubility of silver bromide, the grain size of the emulsion prepared under its presence is larger than that prepared under normal condition. With the complexation of dibenzo-18-crown-6 to the silver bromide crystallites, several active defects were produced on their edges and corners, and when the epitaxial growth was taken place, the epitaxial components were first deposited on the active defects.
