The hollow cubic silver iodochlorobromide microcrystals were prepared. The relation between structure and property of the hollow cubic Ag(Br,Cl,I)microcrystal emulsions was studied by means of SEM and sensitometry.Compared with solid cubic Ag(Br,Cl,I) emulsions, the hollow cubic Ag(Br,Cl,I)grain emulsion has higher surface activity and higher sensitivity. The advantages of hollow cubic silver halide microcystals can be ascribed to their unique hole structure.

High humidity and UV-light irradiation were used to pretreat the precursor films of TiO
2
.It’s shown that the pretreatment could enhance the superhydrophilicity of the resulting films and an optimization time existed.IR and Raman results showed that hydrolysis and condensation were promoted by pretreatment. The superhydrophilicity could last several weeks in the dark.Large amount of acid pinkie red was adsorbed on superhydrophilic TiO
2
films and underwent photodegradation gradually.

The copolymers of N-isopropylacrylamide and acrylamide with different ratios were synthesized. The transition process of coil configuration of the co-polymeric molecule to globule in solution and the diffusion process of fluorescence probe molecule into globule were investigated. The kinetic process and the activation energy of diffusion were measured and discussed. Results indicate that the larger of the ratio of AM composed in copolymer, the looser of the structure of globule obtained. In addition,it is worthy to note that if the mixing method is used for the introduction of fluorescence probe for the measurement of the lower critical solution temperature (LCST),the diffusion process must be considered carefully.

Solutions of some compounds containing sulfur and nitrogen, such as 1-phenyl-5-mercapto-tetrazole (PMT),6-nitro-benzimidazole nitrate.5-nitro-benzimidazole,5-nitro-indazole,4-hydroxy-6-methyl-1,3,3a,7-tetraazaindene (TAI) and thioacetamide, were used to treat samples of sulfur sensitized cubic AgBr emulsion before and after exposure, respectively.Comparisons between sensitometric curves obtained from samples treated by solutions of these compounds before exposure and from ones treated after exposure showed that PMT at a certain range of concentrations had a positive effect on the latent image formation and a negative on the development. Either 6-nitro-benzimidazole nitrate or 5-nitro-benzimidazole had not significant effect on the latent image formation, but rather signficant inhibition on the development.5-nitro-indazole had both inhibitions on the latent image formation and on the development.TAI was of a striking stimulation on the latent image formation and not on the development. Thioacetamide had both inhibitions on the latent image formation and on the development and increased fog as well.

The photophysical properties of anthraquione crown ether and its Eu
3+
complex were investigated. Selective excitation of the anthraquione moiety intramolecular energy transfer from excitated anthraquione to Eu
3+
occurred, the luminescence of Eu
3+
was observed.Luminescence decay measurement showed that the lifetime of Eu
3+
in the complex was prolonged as the result of encapsulation of Eu
3+
in the crown ether ring. Addition of water into the solution of Eu
3+
-complex,the intensity of the emission of Eu
3+
complex decreased showing that the crown ether does not completely shield the Eu
3+
from interaction with water and the solvent.

The photosensitivity of Si containing acrylic oligomer ANS was investigated in terms of photoinitiators, the quantity of reactive diluent hydroxyethylacrylate (HEA) and the structure of ANS.It was shown that ANS has considerable photosensitivity. UV spectrum shows an absorption of λ max at 334 nm.The curing systems have the high curing rate when using 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (Iragacure 651) as the photoinitiator. The role of reactive diluent HEA is to decrease the viscosity of the curing systems, to improve the transparency of the cured film, and to optimize the property of the cured products. The photosensitivity has large variety when oligomers having different structures.

The new UV-curable optical fiber coatings were prepared by blending of epoxyacrylate and polyurethane acrylate.Their main properties are better. The effects of mainbody composition, photoinitiator, active diluent and curing technology on curing rate of UV-curable optical fiber coating were studid in this paper. It is found that the suitable ratio of epoxyacrylate and polyurethane acrylate is 4:6~6:4,the best content of active diluent is not more than 20%.At the same time we found the distance from UV lamp to sample and the thickness of sample have great effects on curing rate.
