    Significant advances have been made within just the last ten years in the technology of photothermographic imaging materials, particularly those that utilize silver carboxylates as the source of silver for the metallic image. These advances have come about as the result of new commercial product needs that were precipitated by the introduction of the world’s first high-resolution, diagnostic quality, medical x-ray film, Kodak DryView laser imaging film, in 1995. Since then, high contrast graphic arts films, a special offshoot of the same technology, have been introduced. Both applications are sufficiently successful that they are now available from multiple companies. These new products have resulted from a three pronged approach to their development: improved photographic film properties in the imaging layer, higher quality, lower cost laser imaging hardware, and focus of research designed to support this work. Significant achievements can clearly be seen in the form of high-resolution, high D-max, low D-min, and uniform cross film properties, all of which, when combined with image stability exceeding 100 years, re establishes the "old" photothermographic technology as an up to date hardcopy imaging medium.

    9 Anthracenemethanol was anchored on silica gel using malonic acid as linker.The photoisomerization of trans-vitamin D3 to cis-vitamin D3 was carried out with this heterogeneous photosensitizer in ethanol and toluene solutions.The experiment results demonstrate that this solid photosensitizer is efficient for the photoisomerization and easy for separated from the reaction mixtures.

    As a kind of functional dyes,cyanine dyes have a wide application in the field of photo sensitizing material,CD,and others.Some cyanine dyes have a tendency of aggregation in solutions.The aggregates will have an important effect on their application capability.The UV-Vis spectra in different conditions of a few important cyanines were investigated in this paper.We have found the effect of temperature and time on the behavior of aggregation.The solvent effect and the concentration effect were also studied.

    Four diphenylamine-4-diazosulfonates:DSS,MDSS,DRS,NDRS derived from diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt(DS),3-methoxy diphenylamine-4-diazonium salt(MDS),diazoresin(DR)and nitro substituted diazoresin(NDR) were prepared via the reactions of Na2SO3 and corresponding diazonium salts or diazoresins.The photochemical and thermal decomposition of these compounds in aqueous solution or in solid film(or in coating)have been investigated and confirmed that the photochemical decomposition of this kind of diazosulfonates is rather fast and the thermal stability is much better than the corresponding diazonium salts and diazoresins.Among them the NDRS exhibits the best thermal stability with almost no considerable decomposition both in aqueous solution heated for 6 h at 70 ℃ and in solid film heated for 11 days at 100 ℃.A mechanism of the photo as well as the thermal decomposition for this kind of diazosulfonates has been proposed tentatively.

    A new phenomenon of photostimulated luminescence of BaFCl:Eu which is widely used in the field of imaging has been discovered.The Photostimulated luminescence can be conditionally enhanced when the sample pre irradiated with X-ray has been irradiated by Ultraviolet such as 220 nm 271 nm 281 nm and so on.The reason of this phenomenon was discussed preliminaryly.

    The cationic photoinitiator BF4 was synthesized and the photosensitivity in epoxide oligomer was studied. There are two main absorptions above 300 nm (λmax =355 nm and 620 nm) which extend to the visible region, So it can well match with high pressure arc. lamp. The optimized photosensitivity in epoxide is 41.8 mJ/cm2 when irradiated by 365 nm UV ray, which is better than that of other cationic photoinitiators. The best concentration of BF4 in the system of ERL-4221+EPON-812 is 3%-5%. Because of the strong post curing ability, the system of ERL-4221+EPON-812 can obtain complete curing with 1% BF4. BF4 is easier to be synthesized than other cationic photoinitiators,so it will be used widely in the future.

    Based on the synthesis of different terpolymers with acridine group,the absorption and fluorescence spectra of these compounds in solution and membrane were recorded respectively.The fluorescence quenching of membrane of these copolymers by different halides was also studied in this work.It was found that the copolymer with different ratio of composition of acridine contained possesses different selectivity for halides.The unsuitable containing of acridine in copolymers will reduce the ability for the molecular recognition of halides.The good results have been obtained just for the membranes in which certain composition of acridine was contained.A detailed discussion was also included.

    This article presented the progress of ArF excimer laser (193 nm) photoresist in last ten years.The different components of 193 nm photoresist were summarized in detail.It indicates that the fine pattern can be obtained by 193 nm lithography technology.ArF excimer laser is a leading candidate for the fabrication of fine pattern.But there are still some problems need to be resolved in the practice.

    The application of photo Fenton method in wastewater is reviewed in the paper.The principles,advantages,disadvantages of this kind of methods and its developmental trend have been discussed.UV-Vis/H2O2/Ferrioxalate Complexes process is a new kind of advanced oxidation technologies (AOTs) developed from photo Fenton method.This process has a much higher efficiency than that of the UV-Vis/Fe2+/H2O2 and UV/H2O2 process TiO2 process and WO3 process in the treatment of difficultly-degraded organic in contaminated water.It has better application prospect in the future,because it has potential in using of the solar energy.
