    TiO2 thin film can be photo-induced super-hydrophilic and reverse to be hydrophobic after stored in the darkness for several weeks.A Mechanochemical method was reported to carry out hydrophilic to hydrophobic transition of polycrystalline anatase TiO2 thin film in several minutes.

    Optical physical properties of three new chromophores with triphenylamine as molecular frame-work bearing one,two,and three 4-(n-bytyloxy-styryl) group(s) at the periphery respectively,(named as T1,T2,and T3) have been investigated.It is interesting to find,on the one hand,that the relative fluorescence intensity is increased from T1 to T2 and to T3 in nonpolar solvents,but decreased from T1 to T2 and to T3 in polar solvents.On the other hand,fluorescence quantum yields for T1 is increased,while those for T3 is decreased with the increase of the solvent polarity,which means that there may exist two emission mechanism,i.e.ICT state and TICT state functioning in different solvents.Although the mole absorbance (ε) is increased monotonously from T1 to T2 and to T3 in any solvents used,maximum absorption wavelengths and corresponding absorption edge are red-shifted from T1 to T2 and to T3,however,the shift span for T3 is almost negligible,suggesting that the energy gap may remain unchanged when further dendritical structure is formed.

    The previous study showed that high chloride tabular grain emulsions having higher aspect ratio could be achieved by employing low methionine oxidized gelatins.In this paper the properties and methionine content of oxidized gelatins have been studied.Oxidized gelatins with different methionine content were prepared through oxidizing inert gelatins with H2O2.The reducing power of oxidized gelatins was tested by potential titration method,the methionine content was evaluated with L-8500 amino acid analyzer,the molecular weight distribution of the different conformation components was determined with SDS-PAGE method.The results indicated that the methionine content and reducing power varied with the different degree of oxidation,and oxidation had no remarkable influence on the molecular weight distribution of the oxidized gelatins relative to the original gelatin.

    Critical micelle concentration (CMC) and aggregation number of micelle (N) of four sodium branched alkyl benzene sulfonates were determined by steady-state fluorescence probe method in which pyrene was used as fluorescence probe and benzophenone as quencher.Increasing the hydrocarbon chain lenght of sodium branched alkyl benzene sulfonate,CMC values were decreased.The experimental results showed that the optimum concentration of benzophenone was different to different sodium branched alkyl benzene sulfonates and the N increased with increasing the carbon number of the short alkyl chain while the N decreased with increasing the carbon number of the long alkyl chain.It was also found that the N increased with the increasing of the concentration of NaCl while the surround polarity of pyrene probe decreased.

    DAR couplers(Development Accelerator Releasing Coupler) are contained in the light-sensitive silver halide photographic material.They are represented by the general formula Cp-L-A in which “Cp” represents a coupler residue.“A” represents a development accelerating functional group and L represents a divalent linking group.In this paper,three DAR yellow couplers are synthesized:“Cp” is α-pivalyl-2-chlor-5-acetanilide;“L” is 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiociazol;“A” are 1-formyl-2-(4-aminophenyl)hydrazide,1-acetyl1-2-(4-aminophenyl)hydrazide and 1-trifluoroacety1-2-(4-aminophenyl)hydrazide.The structures of couplers are identified by IR,1HNMR,and MS.

    The mechanisms of dissolution inhibition of positive photoresist based on novolak(NVK)-diazonaphthoquinone(DNQ),including(1) the molecular hydrogen bonding interactions between novolak and DNQ;(2) mechanism of the azoxy- or azo-coupling reaction of DNQ-ester with novolak resin;(3) the two-step mechanism (also named static and dynamic inhibition) of dissolution inhibition;(4) mechanism of the surface of the photoresist;(5) the molecular dissolution of novolak related to the mechanism of inhibition,was reviewed in this paper.

    We are gifted with a pair of eyes and the ability to observe our surroundings in three-dimension.Reconstruction of spatial image has always been a great challenge.There have been many attempts to develop a simple and economic method to photograph a life-like image representing all three visual axes;the same way that the human eye perceives its surroundings.There are two basic techniques to produce a 3D image that does not require the use of special glasses:holography and micro-lenticule system.Due to the inherent technical limitations,holography has not yet become a practical imaging technique.The micro-lenticuls system,presumably is the most promising direction of future development of 3D photographic images.The history of lenticular 3D image can be traced back from the early 1940's when Baurice Bonnet,a French scientist,developed his first lenticular 3D photo in his studio in Paris.Then followed by the mass production of 3D lenticular lithographic prints during the 1950's & 1970's in the US and Japan.However,until today,lenticular 3D images have not yet been successfully developed as a consumer product due to its unstable image quality,complicated and unreliable processes.

    The research progress on β-acylphenylhydrazines development accelerators was reviewed in this paper.At the same time,the mechanism of infectious development caused by hydrazines derivetives was explained;the reasons of causing high fogging and self-quenching effect were analyzed and the suggestion of dispeling ways was made. The relationship between infectious development and substituents was explained.

    In air,the generation of O3 under bactericidal lamp illumination was studied with a flow-type reactor at room temperature.The results show the concentration of ozone generated is go beyond 0.33 μg/L (allowable concentration) when the contact time for 8 W bactericidal lamp was about more than 7 s,and the ozone concentration increases with the decreasing air flow rate.The catalytic decomposition of ozone was also studied with the use of carbon-supported MnO2-Fe2O3 catalyst.The results show ozone can be decomposed to below 0.28 μg/L when the volume space velocity is less than 1.1×105 h-1.

    Since the photocatalytic activity and the hydrophility of titanium dioxide thin film under irradiation of ultraviolet,they have received much attention for their practical applications.A brief summary of research advanced and applications of functional titanium dioxide thin film had been given in this review,and some simply comments on problems in research and the developmental direction in future also had been made.
