    A photocatalytic electrode with TiO2 immobillized on the new supporter was reported.The new supporter which was prepared using carbon and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has the function of electrogenerating H2O2.Under 15 mA/cm2,the photocatalytic electrode not only had the current efficiency of synthesizing H2O2 of 82%,but its potential (about 0.02 V(SCE) made a TiO2 on the supporter obtain +0.47 V anodic bia (VS.flat band potential)which was very profitable for increasing efficiency of photocatalytic reaction.So,in a photo-reactor with the photocatalytic electrode,mineralization rate of the organic compounds was greatly enhanced due to joint effect of the homogeneous oxidation of the organic moleculars by ·OH from photodissociation of H2O2 in the solution(oxidation of photochemistry)and heterogeneous oxidation by holes at TiO2 (Photocatalytic oxidation).

    X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is a kind of analytical technique with high sensitivity and resolution power.The nature of interaction between the S atom in protein of photographic gelatin and Ag+ was studied by XPS.The results in present paper showed that both methionine and methionine sulfoxide residues could link Ag+ through their S atoms.The amount of methionine sulfoxide residue was much more than that of methionine residue in the gelatin studied in our experiment,which suggested that methionine sulfoxide residue played a more important role than methionine residue in binding Ag+ with their S atoms.Moreover,the related characters of gelatins from different materials were compared.

    The modification of photocathode with platinum was carried out by vacuum coating,thermal decomposition and electrodeposition.The dye-sensitized nanocrystalline solar cell was assembled with photocathode modified platinum.The photocathodes were characterized by SEM.It is found that there were more defects and impurities in misproportion platinum film prepared by vacuum coating,porous structure,and organics remainders in the platinum films prepared by thermal decomposition and uniformity structure,few defects and little impurity in the film prepared by electrodeposition.The resistance of platinum films was measured,it was found that there was smaller resistance and better catalyzing performance for film prepared by electrodeposition than those by vacuum and thermal decomposition methods.The photoelectric conversion properties of dye-sensitized nanocrystalline solar cell was improved greatly by photocathode modified by platinum with electrodeposition and thermal decomposition.

    An azobenzene polymer (PGMAA-20) was synthesized and characterized.Photoinduced refractive index gratings were written in the azobenzene polymer films by using S+S configuration.After the gratings formed,the samples were investigated under a polarized optical phase contrast microscope.It has been found that the gratings are polarization sensitive.This kind of gratings can be kept in the material for a long time.A mode of molecular reorientation is used to explain the formation mechanism of these gratings and it is well consistent with our experimental results.

    The morphology of the doped T-grain after sulfur plus gold sensitized was observed by AFM.The size and the thickness of the crystal were obtained directly.The fine morpology of the surface of the T-grain showed that the surface was not flat,there were a number of protrusions,which were linearly arranged,like a network.After a long time exposure,the protrusions grew higher and gathered together.When the antifoggant was adsorbed on the surface of the crystal,few protrusions were found.After the exposure,the morphology of the surface changed little.

    Applying Wagner Polarization,the electric properties of silver bromide tabular grain emulsions were studied.According to the study the unexposed tabular grain did possess certain amount of electron conductivity,which was comparatively higher than that of the exposed tabular grains.When anti-fog agents were added,the tabular grain showed a significant increase of its electron conductivity.This variance revealed the state of the combination of free electrons with interstitial silver ions within the silver bromide emulsion crystals.The retardant effect of thiohydrotetrazole,a typical anti-fog agent,was also illustrated from the viewpoint of its molecular structure.

    By microwave phase-sensitive technique, the instantaneous decay signals of free electrons and trapped electrons in AgBrI, which was sulfurized, were obtained.The relationships between sulfurizing time and the decay time of photoelectrons, the effects of electron traps, the lifetime of photoelectrons, the effective depth of traps and the transfer time of trapped electrons, were analyzed.From the experiment results, we got the best values of sulfurizing time, photoelectron decay time, effect of traps, lifetime of photoelectron, effective depth of traps and transfer time of trapped electrons.

    The photocatalytic-oxidation of H2S on TiO2 was investigated.Oxygen is indispensable for the photodestruction of H2S.When the mol ratio of oxygen to H2S was 42:1 in the raw gas,the degradation of H2S reached 97% with 28000 h-1 volume space velocity.TiO2 catalyst can be poisoned by S0.After TiO2 catalyst was regenerated by light in the presence of air,S0 was converted to SO42-,the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 was recovered.The presence of surface SO42- can stabilize the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.

    The ultraviolet absorption spectrum of several photoinitiators with different ratio used in UV powder coating was determined.In virtue of kinetics analytical method,the quantum efficiency of different systems was studied correspondingly.The process of quantum efficiency calculation was introduced in detail.The results showed that the system with different photoinitiators of different ratio had different quantum efficiency,and the result might vary 2-3 times when the ratio was different.The quantum efficiency of system Irgacure2959/Irgacure819 was higher when the ratio were (1:2) and 7:3.This meant at this time the photoinitiators were much more active and their initiator efficiency was higher.The result could act as an important guide to the UV curable powder coating study.

    The UV-Vis spectra of 5-(9-anthryl)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-1-phenyl-2-pyrazoline(ANPP) and its derivatives were compared.It was found that strong hypsochromical effect exists in "Ar-N-N=C-Ar" chromophore and bathochromic effect in anthryl group in ANPP.Computational studies demonstrated twisting between the two chromphores.It implies these effects are resulted by intramolecular homoconjugation.This finding will help explaining the unconjugated charge transfer between the two groups in the excited state and provide a new method to increase absorption coefficient of 1,3,5-triarylpyrazoline compounds.

    Green-emitting phosphors of aluminate doped Ce3+,Tb3+,and Mn2+ were prepared by combustion synthesis.The phosphors of aluminate doped with Mn2+, Ce3+,and Tb3+ emitted character band of Mn2+.The luminescence and the optimum concentration of Mn2+ was interpreted by analysis of its structure.The luminescence of Mn2+ were reduced,especially the luminescence of Mn2+ were not observed in the phorphors while replaced Mg by Ca,Sr,and Ba.
