TEGDMA was polymerized by UV radiation at different temperatures; polymerization conversion and dark reaction process were investigated by NIR spectroscopy. Results indicated that, when the polymerization temperature is lower, the conversion is lower but the dark reaction process is more distinct. DMTA results showed that, DMTA curves of samples polymerized at 20, 0,(-20,) and -40 ℃ are similar, however, lg

decrease with the continuous descent of temperature. The results also indicated that all α relaxed peaks are wide, which illuminates that the degree of crosslink are uniform in all films polymerized at different temperatures.

films. It is proved that the absorption of NPC (nanocrystalline photovoltaic cell) can be improved in visible light by co-sensitization. The performance of this cell is better than the cell which is sensitized only with dye Eosin. Cell sensitized by dye Eosin and Coumarin mixture can get a

under ultrasonic irradiation, followed by calcinations at 450 ℃. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The photocatalytic activity of the doped catalysts were evaluated using the reaction of photocatalytic oxidation of acetic and photocatalytic reduction of CO

. The results show that the photocatalytic activity can be significantly improved by doping copper. The raised content of adsorbed oxygen and coexistence of Cu

and Cu

are likely to be two of the reasons responsible for the improved photocatalytic activity.

Various techniques based upon basis vectors have been developed to generate reflectance functions from a given set of tristimulus values or an input devices’ RGB responses. At first two widely used methods, the Generalised Inverse and the Wiener, were introduced. A drawback of these methods was addressed, which is that the generated reflectance functions are sometimes out of the range between 0 and 1. A new method was developed to overcome this problem. This method was tested together with the other two methods. The new method not only gave more accurate predictions to the test data but also satisfied the boundary conditions. Furthermore, it was found that using more than 5 basis vectors does not perform better than those using 5 basis vectors.

Chemical sensitization effects of benzotriazole (BZT) on PTG materials were studied, in which polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and silver stearate (AgSt) was respectively used as binder and silver source, and AgBr light sensitive component was obtaind from ex-situ preparation. The results showed that sensitized AgBr by BZT could effectively increase the sensitivity of PTG materials; Moreover, both image and fog density would not be formed in a higher amount range of BZT. Maximal sensitivity of PTG materials would be obtained by sensitizing AgBr at 40 ℃ in 70 min, or in the ratio of 0.15 BZT mol/mol AgSt when BZT reacted with AgSt and then mixed with other components of PTG materials.

In the emulsifying process of silver bromide microcrystals in the double-jet apparatus controlled by a microcomputer, a specific quantity of DMAB was added at different time when the crystal growth to obtain a series of cubic AgBr emulsions in which Ag
2
were doped into different depths of AgBr microcrystals. The results from determination of photographic properties of these emulsions showed: 1) that the sensitivities of Ag
2
doped emulsions, relative to that of the undoped emulsion as the controlled one, were remarkably increased; 2) that a significant cooperative sensitization of the internal doped silver dimmers with the surface sulfur-plus-gold and dye sensitizations was observed; 3) that the closer to the surface of grains the Ag
2
doped in AgBr grains was, and the greater the sensitivities of the doped emulsions were; 4) that fog densities of all emulsions doped by Ag
2
, including those primitive, sensitized by sulfur-plus-gold and by green-sensitive dye, were kept in a reasonably low level.

The effects of Ca

, Ba

ion on sensitometric properties and aging stability of PTG materials, using AgSt as silver sources, ex-situ formed AgBr as photosensitive component, and PVA as binder, were investigated. The results showed that the sensitivity and the fog of PTG materials were all decreased at different degrees when adding Ca
2+
or Ba
2+
to system before coating, and sensitivity was debased quickly with the increase of percentage of Ca
2+
or Ba

. In addition, the changing trend of the sensitivity and the fog of PTG materials which contained Ca
2+
was not consistent with that of Ba
2+
as the aging time went on.

nanoparticles were prepared by a sol-gel method with using ACF as template, and were characterized using various techniques such as XRD,SEM and TEM, XPS and UV-Vis. The particles were mainly in anatase form, about 10 nm in size, with certain nanotube structures (d 5 nm). The ratio of Ti to N in N doped TiO
2
can reach 1:0.19.The absorbency wavelength in UV-Vis spectra may extend to 700—800 nm. The photocatalytic activities of TiO

were evaluated by the photocatalytic oxidation of ammonia in water using ultraviolet or solar light as light source. The best ammonia removal(2 h) under solar light and UV photocatalysis reached 47% and 68% respectively. It is concluded that nitrogen doping contributes to visible light activity and oxidative removal of ammonia from water.

Two 1-substituted
cis
-1,2-cyclohexanediol monosulfonate acid amplifiers were prepared by hydrogen peroxide oxidizing of corresponding olefin and then esterified with p-toluenesulfonyl chloride. The acidolysis properties were studied directly by detecting the small amounts of acid generated by the compounds with our method using bromophenol as indicator. The two compounds displayed good acidolysis property when moderately warmed but the storage stability is low. They are also unstable to polar solvents.
