[Fe-Fe] Hydrogenases can catalyze proton into hydrogen(H

) reversibly in nature.Herein,a benzo-15-crown-5 modified [Fe-Fe] hydrogenase mimics 1 has been successfully synthesized by the Sonogashira reaction.Electrochemical studies indicate that 1 is an active catalyst for H
2
production under the electrochemical conditions.

Dendrimers are well-defined tree-like macromolecules having numerous chain ends all emanating from a single core, which makes them an attractive candidate for light-harvesting applications.More importantly, their synthesis is controllable and the accurate positioning of chromophores can be achieved.Photoinduced electron transfer and energy transfer are main processes involved in photosynthesis.Studies on these processes in dendritic systems are important for the future application of dendrimers in optoelectronic devices. In this Focus Review we will discuss recent advances of light-harvesting dendrimers and emphasize the energy transfer and electron transfer characteristics in these systems.

as hydrogen-evolving catalyst, the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution efficiencies of the two Ir(Ⅲ) complexes were compared. The Ir(Ⅲ) complex bearing one negative charge exhibits much higher photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity than the Ir(Ⅲ) complex bearing one positive charge. It was confirmed that the electrostatic attraction between the negatively charged photosensitizer and positively charged catalyst plays an important role.

A relative rigid naphthalene-anthracene supramolecular ensemble has been designed and synthesized via 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinone quadruple hydrogen-bonded module.Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence profiles demonstrate that the singlet-singlet energy transfer occurs effectively from naphthalene to anthracene moieties in ensemble UPNa? UPAn.The rate constant and efficiency for photoinduced energy transfer in ensemble UPNa稶PAn is much greater than that of theoretical calculation through Förster mechanism. Therefore, the singlet-singlet energy transfer process takes place via Förster mechanism and "through AADD quadruple hydrogen bond" mechanism in this ensemble.

fluorescent glasses were prepared by conventional melting method. The effect of starting compositions on the glass-forming ability and the fluorescent properties of the glasses were studied. It was found that, the content of SiO
2
affected the glass-forming ability significantly, and for a melting temperature of 1500 ℃ and a fixed Y/Al molar ratio of 3/5,pure glass could be obtained with a SiO

content of 52-68%(mol).Under an excitation at 395 nm,the glasses showed two strong emission peaks at 588 nm and 614 nm,respectively. The intensities of the emission peaks varied with the concentrations of Eu
