The effect of phthalic acid and phthalazine on the morphology of silver particles formed by dry-processed thermal reduction of silver stearate was investigated. Experimental results show that phthalic acid resulted in the formation of spherical silver both in TG model system and in PTG system. Phthalazine facilitated the formation of spherical silver and filamentary silver in TG model system and PTG system, respectively. The sequence of the addition of toners had an important effect on silver morphology. The synergetic effect of toner pair and photosensitive catalyst led to the formation of dendritic silver in PTG system. The possible mechanism for the formation of silver nanoparticles was proposed.

Photo-curable silicone materials combine the advantages of photo-curing by high efficient, energy saving and low impact on environment in application with the excellent heat and weather resistance, and electrical insulation properties of silicone materials. In this work, the photocuring behaviors, the optical properties and thermal stability of the cured materials of a series of photo-curable phenyl-silicone prepolymes (KDS-10, KMDS-03, KMS-03) are studied. It has been found that the refractive index increases with the increasing of phenyl units in the silicone prepolymer: when the phenyl content increased from 22.3% to 37.7%, the refractive index of the prepolymer increased from 1.496 of KMS-03 to 1.542 of KDS-10. The silicone prepolymers are well compatible with acrylate diluents. The photo-curing mixture exhibits higher curing rate and vinyl conversion with difunctional TPGDT as the diluents. TPO is the most efficient photoinitator in curing rate and conversion. The photo-cured film prepared by prepolymer KDS-10 shows excellent optical properties with transmittance over 92.54% at 550 nm and excellent thermal stability with the initial thermal degradation temperature of 385℃ with glass transition temperature about-17.4℃.

UV-curing of TMPTA and different ethoxylated TMPTA was studied respectively in air or nitrogen by UV-DSC.The oxygen inhibition in initial stage of curing was evaluated by the difference of the time when the curing rate growing fastest in different condition. The influence of the number of α-H in monomer and the monomer flow characteristics on oxygen inhibition was studied. The result shows that oxygen inhibition can be remitted by increasing the number of the ethyoxyls in monomer. Oxygen inhibition is related to the number of α-H and monomer viscosity.

A series of functional polymerizable cationic hydrotropes(PCHs) with different alkyl aromatic hydrophobic structures were studied. The solubilization properties and assembly behaviors were examined by absorption and emission spectra using Nile Red dye as a multi-functional probe. The result showed that there present two concentration thresholds: the critical association concentration (CAC) (10-1—10-2 mol/L) and the minimal hydrotropic concentration (MHC) (>10-1 mol/L). Both of them decrease obviously with increasing dimension of hydrophobic structure. The microenvironment polarities of aggregates determined have a relatively high value compared with that for surfactant micelles, and continuously decreased with concentration suggesting formation of loose aggregated structure whose molecular stack density increase gradually with aggregate growth. In addition, hydrotropic polymers of this type obtained by radical polymerization maintained the original hydrotropic properties with more effective solubilization ablitiy.

TiO2 photocatalysts (TiO2-xSi) doped by different contents of silicon were prepared by a sol-gel method. The catalysts exhibited a higher photocatalytic ability than the pure TiO2 and N-doped TiO2(TiO2-N). The samples were characterized by XRD, XPS, FT-IR and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance absorption spectra. It was revealed that the doped silicon ions formed Si—O—Ti structures on the surface of TiO2 particles. And thus, surface state energy attributed to the silicon dopant was located at 0.2—0.6 eV below the conduction band of TiO2, which enhanced the response to the visible light and photocatalytic ability. It was discussed the suppression to the formation of rutile phase and the growth of titanium dioxide crystals because of the doped silica in TiO2 particles and the effect of catalysts' surface area and surface species such as hydroxyl to the photocatalytic activity.

A new class of oxime sulfonates type photo-acid generators (PAGs) which are non-ionic and halogen-free was reported here. The structures of the four PAGs were characterized by 1HNMR and their thermal stability, UV absorption properties, and acid generation efficiency were investigated in detail. The results showed that the all four PAGs displayed excellent absorption at the DUV region of 248 nm as well as the region of 350—450 nm. Exposure at 420 nm, P-2 exhibited the highest acid-forming performance with the efficiency up to 0.96. P-1 showed high acid productivity when exposed at both 365 and 420 nm. The photo-polymerization kinetics of vinyl ether initiating by the four PAGs with the same concentration were monitored by real-time infrared spectroscopy (RT-IR). At the same time, the influence of the concentration of photo-acid generator on photo-polymerization was also discussed. The RT-IR results indicated that the double bond conversion (DC%) rate of vinyl ether could reach 80% upon exposure of 30 s with a concentration of 2% for the four photo-acid generators.
