Abstract: The interaction between polystyrene sulfonate and methylene blue was studied. In systems with different mole equivalent ratios (P/D) of polystyrene sulfonate to methylene blue, the latter was found to exist in different states of aggregation, which exerts a great influence on its ability for producing singlet oxygen.
