Abstract: The graft copolymerization of isoprene on the surface of tetrafluoroethylene-co-propylene-could take place by abstracting the hydrogen atom from propylene in copolymer by benzophene anthroquinone and beizoin at UV irradiating- The graft reaction carries out on the mechanism of triplet radicals. The graft efficiency increases with the lengthening of irradiation time, but no more than 40%.The microstructure of grafting chain of polyisoprene is mainly composed of 3,4- and 1,2-polymerization of isoprene. And the polymerisoprene made by radical polymerization consisted of 1,4-polymerization of isoprene essentially. The redox initiation system used for this graft copolymerization, such as Ce+4 or Fe+2-H2O2 is ineffective. The polar solvent, for example THF,has little influence on the microstructure-of grafting chain of polyisoprene.
