Abstract: A new hole transporting material, 1,5-bis[N-(1-naphthy)-N-phenyl]naphthalene diamine (NPN), was synthesized. The absorption and emission spectra were determined. The amine showed exceedingly high Tg’s(127 ℃) or thermal stability as well as low ionization potential(Ip, 5.30 eV), so that being expectable as a new candidate for hole injection and/or transport material in organic light emitting diodes.

Key words: organic light emitting diodes, hole-transporting material, 1,5-bis[N-(1-naphthy)-N-phenyl]naphthalene diamine
