Abstract: Poly(diazosulfonate styrene)(PDSS) was synthesized with reaction of poly(diazonium styrene)(PDS) and Na2SO3 in an alkali aqueous solution. As an anionic polyelectrolyte PDSS can self-assemble(SA) with tetra-trimethylaminophenylporphyrin(TTMAP) layer-by-layer via ionic interaction. Under UV irradiation the ionic bonds of the film convert into covalent bonds resulting in the film becoming very stable towards polar solvents or salty aqueous solutions and can determine its photocurrent directly in KCl aqueous solution. The results show that the film possesses good photoelectron conversion properties.

Key words: poly(diazo-sulfonate styrene), tetra-trimethylaminophenylporphyrin, self-assemble, photo-electron conversion
