Abstract: A novel CdS/TiO2 nanocomposites were prepared respectively by impregnation and hy-drothermal reaction, and the structure and morphology of the samples were characterized by Trans-mission electron microscope (TEM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),UV-Vis absorption spectra (UV-VIS),Electron spin resonance (ESR) et al.The results obtained by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscope(TEM) showed that the particles of the novel nanocomposites are small and uniformly dispersed,CdS composited TiO2 materials consisted of anatase with highly dis-persed cubic and hexagonal phase. The results of photocatalytic degradation of the brilliant X-3B in the visible light irradiation indicated that the novel CdS/TiO2 was greatly improved compared CdS/TiO2 prepared directly. The formation of a large number of single electron bound oxygen vacances and the strong electronic interaction between CdS and TiO2 are the main reason for the visible-light photocatalytic activity of the novel CdS/TiO2.
