Preparation of Tremella-like BiOBr and Its Photocatalytic Performance

Abstract:

A solvothermal method to prepare tremella-like BiOBr was developed by using β-CD, Bi(NO3)3·5H2O and KBr as starting materials. The nano BiOBr was characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and UV-visible. It was found that the micro-morphology of BiOBr was greatly influenced by the amount of β-CD. When the amount of β-CD was 0.4574 g, the morphology of product was tremella-like BiOBr with a highest photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation.
