Abstract: In this paper, TiO2/Si and TiO2/glass thin films with nano-crystalline have been prepared by the sol-gel processing of controlled Ti alkoxide hydrolysis. Their photocatalytic properties are also examined at the same time. The results indicate that by selecting substrates and annealing temperature the size of thin films can be controlled. The particle size effect and the thickness of films have effects on the photocatalytic activities of the thin films. Moreover, photocatalytic thin films can be re-used.
