INVESTIGATION OF PHOTOCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF PHENYL-(ESTRA-17 β-OL-3)- DIAZENE IN POLY-METHYL METHACRYLATE FILM

Abstract: The cis-trans photoisomerization of phenyl-(estta-17 β-ol-3)-diazene (P E D) in polymethyl methacrylate film was investigated. Measurement and evaluation principle and methodology of quantum yield, composition of photostationary state, free volume distribution of the polymer bulk and so on were introduced in detail for cis-trans photoisomerizations in such solid matrix under π, π* or n,π* excitations. These analysis should also be applicable to other similar photochromic system.
