Fabrication of Stable Electrophoretic Suspension for Multicolor Display of Electronic Paper at Low Voltage

Abstract: To improve the stability of electrophoretic suspension and reduce their threshold voltage, titanium dioxide and dyes were dispersed by using polymer dispersants of BYK Corporation.High stable electrophoretic suspension with multicolor including red,green,blue,yellow,black,and white,had been obtained.The contrast and bistability of the e-paper display can be studied through UV-Vis reflection spectrum in the characteristic peaks of the electrophoretic suspension.The multicolor electrophoretic display devices present the same responding rate of 470-510 ms activated by 2 voltages,72 hours of t1/3 of sedimentation rate,7 of contrast,and excellent bistability at low voltage.
