Abstract: The effects of five phenylhydrazines (general formular:R-Ph-NHNH-COR’)on the photographic properties of silver halide emulsions have been investigated. The mechanisms and influential factors are also studied by cyclic voltammetry and GC-MS spectrometry etc,It is found that the infectious effects caused by phenylhydrazines vary with the change if the substituent R or R’,and have a relation to the gelatin-silver ratio and the type of the emulsion. When the substituent R or R’was changed, the mechanism is different.A more complete understanding of the meachanism of infectious development has been obtaind.
