Abstract: TiO2 coupling with SnO2 was modified by impregnation method with aqueous solution of Cu(NO3)2 under ultrasonic irradiation, followed by calcinations at 450 ℃.The photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was evaluated using the reaction of photocatalytic oxidation of acetic acid as well as formaldehyde, and photocatalytic reduction of CO2.The results show that the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 can be improved either by copper modified or coupling with SnO2.One of the two improvement methods is enhanced by the other. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The mechanism for the improvement of CuOx-SnO2/TiO2 state was discussed and the possible route of photocatalytic reduction of CO2 was proposed.
