Abstract: L-(-)-α-Phenyl ethylamine was reacted with cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate to afford L-(-)-α-phenyl ethylammonium cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate with high yield.Crystal structural analysis demonstrates that the hydrogen bonding of N2A-HN2B…O5A and O1A-HN1A…O3A are responsible for the crystal packing,in which N2A-HN2B…O5A connects L-(-)-α-phenyl ethylammonium cation and cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate.Intermolecular hydrogen bonding of O1A-H1AA…O6A and O1B-H1AB…O6B directs the assembly of two enatiomers of cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate acid.

Key words: L-(-)-α-phenyl ethylamine, cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate acid, C2 symmetry
