    Selectively Growing Ag Nanowires within Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template by Means of Photographic Approach

    A mild and effective method is reported for the selective growth of Ag nanowires within anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template,which involved fabricating AgBr nanowires,reducing the exposed AgBr nanowires into Ag nanowires and removing the unexposed AgBr nanowires.The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) images demonstrated that Ag nanowires formed and occupied the pre-exposed pores,while most of the pores over unexposed areas kept empty.Furthermore,the morphology of Ag nanowires was twisty and surface rough,and the selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern disclosed a polycrystalline nature of silver wire.The factors affecting the selective growth of Ag nanowires have been preliminarily presented.

    L-(-)-α-Phenyl ethylamine was reacted with cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate to afford L-(-)-α-phenyl ethylammonium cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate with high yield.Crystal structural analysis demonstrates that the hydrogen bonding of N2A-HN2B…O5A and O1A-HN1A…O3A are responsible for the crystal packing,in which N2A-HN2B…O5A connects L-(-)-α-phenyl ethylammonium cation and cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate.Intermolecular hydrogen bonding of O1A-H1AA…O6A and O1B-H1AB…O6B directs the assembly of two enatiomers of cubane-like dimer of carboxylic 2-naphthoate acid.

    A new soluble anthracene derivative 2-tert-butyl-9,10-bis (9,9-dipropylfluorenyl)anthracene was designed and synthesized.The compound has high solubility in common organic solvent and does not tend to form crystal due to introducing of the flexible alkyl groups.Through theoretical calculations we found that the compound has two stable conformations and the substituents are highly twisted,which can mitigate unfavorable steric interacton.The compound exhibits blue-light emission in dichloromethane solution (λmax=443 nm) and solid state (λmax=450 nm),the fluorescence quantum efficiency in cyclohexane solution is measured to be 0.78.TGA and DSC results show the compound has high thermal stabilities,the decomposition temperature and glass transition temperature are 365℃ and 126℃ respectively.

    1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide was synthesized by quaternization.The photovoltaic performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) was compared for electrolytes containing different concentrations of I,KI and iodine.After optizimed,the DSCs with the electrolyte (0.90 mol·L-1 I,0.50 mol·L-1 KI and 0.12 mol·L-1 I2 in GBL) gave short circuit photocurrent density (Jsc) of 15.97 mA·cm-2,open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.71 V,and fill factor (FF) of 0.55,corresponding with the photoelectric conversion efficiency (η) of 6.34% under one Sun (Xenon lamp,AM1.5,100 mW·cm-2).

    The photochemical mineralization of dissolved organic carbon to dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) is a key process in carbon cycling.Suwannee river humic acid was photooxidated using a Suntest CPS solar simulator to examine the effects of dissolved oxygen levels,the wavelength of incident light and the concentration of Fe on the photoproduction of DIC.Based on the rate of DIC photoproduction under air-saturation in the first 24 h (4.40 μmol/ (L·h)),it increased by a factor of 1.56 under O2-saturation,but fell by only 36% under N2-saturation.UV-B,UV-A and visible wavelengths accounted for 31.8,32.6 and 25.6% respectively of DIC production.As 20 μmol/L DFOM added,the rate of DIC photoproduction was 55.6% of that of original Suwannee river humic acid samples with 5.46 μmol/L Fe.

    Poly (N,N′-dimethylacrylamide) and P (DMAA-co-MMA) copolymer hydrogels have been prepared by the photochemical synthesis,the process of photo-polymerization was completed within 3 minutes.P (DMAA-MMA)/nano-SiO2 complex hydrogels were prepared by the radical graft copolymerization of N,N′-dimethylacrylamide and a bit of MMA onto the surface of nano-SiO2 particles whose surface were modified.Irgacure 2959 was used as photo-initiator and N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide (Bis) was used as the cross-linking agent.The products were characterized by FT-IR and SEM.Swelling dynamics,water release behavior,ionic strength sensitive and pH-sensitive performances of the hydrogels were discussed.

    A novel type of water-soluble polymeric thioxanthone photoinitiator containing glucamine (PTX-GA) was synthesized by introducing thioxanthone (TX) moieties and glucamine (GA) group into the same polyacylate chain.Through changing the proportion of thioxanthone and coinitiator amine,three kinds of macrophotoinitiators were synthesized.Photopolymerizations of acrylamide (AAM) initiated by these macrophotoinitiators were studied through photo-dilatometer.The result show that this kind of water-soluble polymeric photoinitiator can initiate polymerization acrylamide (AAM) effectively in absence of coinitiator amine,and might be used in biomaterials such as dental materials.

    A novel NLO side-chain polymer was synthesized by attaching the NLO chromophore to a hydroxy-containing polymer BPAN which possesses excellent processability.The new polymer inherited the good performance of BPAN such as good film formation property and cross-linkability,etc.Cross-linked poled polymer with even higher content of NLO chromophore was obtained by taking the same kind of NCO-containing chromophore as cross-linking agent.The electro-optic coefficient of the poled polymer was 6.7 pm/V,which was measured by ATR method at 1315 nm.

    The effect of triphenylphosphine (PPh3) on the photographic characters of water-base PTG materials based on silver stearate as silver sources was studied.The results showed that the sensitivity of the PTG materials elevated with increasing the PPh3 amount at a relatively low PPh3 content;and the sensitivity reached a maximal value with increasing the PPh3 amount till about 10%;when continuing to increase the PPh3 amount,however,the sensitivity decreased with increasing the PPh3 content.The analysis results supposed that the eight-membered ring of AgSt dimer was destroyed by the addition of small amount of PPh3,and a new intermediate compound formed which accelerated the thermal development;A four-member-ring complex composed of PPh3 and AgSt was supposed to have formed when large amount of PPh3 was used,and the four-member-ring complex inhibited the thermal development.The introduction of PPh3 into PTG materials could also influence the efficiency of latent image formation for light sensitive element,which contributed to improve the sensitivity.
