Preparation and Properties of Low Molecular Weight Polyacrylate Acrylic Resin Containing Carboxylic Group

Abstract: A kind of low molecular weight polyacrylate acrylic resin (PAAR) containing carboxyl group was synthesized through simple method with high conversion and good mechanical and physical properties of cured film.Its main chain was prepared through copolymerization of alkylacrylate and acrylic acid and the result indicated that when methyl acrylate,ethyl acrylate and acrylic acid (molar ration 1:1:1) were used as monomers,with 1.5% initiator AIBN,2.5% chain transfer agent dodecanethiol,the molecular weight of polyacrylate (PA) was between 1100-1400 with the polydispersity index less than 2.Through esterification reaction between this kind of PA with Glycidyl methacrylete (GMA),the final product PAAR was obtained with more than 90% esterification conversion,and UV cured film exhibited satisfied hardness,glossy and flexibility.
