Abstract: A new coumarin derivative,1,3-bis(7-ethoxy-4-methyl-3-coumarinyl)benzene(mEMCB),was designed and synthesized.mEMCB exhibits higher triplet energy(2.42 eV) than that of the most green and red phosphorescent dopants.Furthermore,mEMCB has good thermal stabilities. The decomposition temperature(Td) is 361.49 ℃,and the glass transition temperature(Tg) is 79.72 ℃,which is obviously higher than that of popular host material CBP(Tg,62 ℃).The results indicate that mEMCB is a potential host material for green and red phosphorescent OLEDs.
