Abstract: The diagnosis effect of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) on cardio-embolic cerebral infarction (CECI) is analyzed in this study. 65 patients with CECI who sought medical care in our hospital from May 2018 to December 2019 were enrolled. TEE and TTE examination were performed, and the detection of embolic sources of cardiac disease by different examinations were compared, as well as the sensitivity and specificity of different examinations. The results show that, the detection rate of TEE on the atrial septal defect, aortic plaque, patent foramen ovale, mitral valve prolapse, mitral valve thickening and atrial septal aneurysm were higher than those of TTE (P<0.05). The sensitivity and specificity of TEE combined with TTE in the diagnosis of CECI was higher than that of single examination (P<0.05).According to this, TEE has a high detection rate in the diagnosis of CECI, while TTE has false negative results. TEE combined with TTE can improve the diagnosis accuracy of CECI.
