STUDY ON CHARACTERISTICS OF PHOTOCHROMIC AND THERMOCHROMIC OF AN AZOBENZENE AMPHIPHILE BEARING PERFLUORO CHAIN AS TERMINAL GROUP IN LB FILMS

Abstract: An azobenzene amphiphile bearing perfluoro alkane chain (n-PFHAZO) was synthesized. L-B films with layer order periodic structure were fabricated. The n-PFHAZO molecules in the L-B films exhibited an excellent cis-trans photoisomerization and thermoisomerization. The process is completely reversible. May be the perfluoro alkane chains afford adequate free volume for the isomerization in L-B films.
