Abstract: A total of 194 patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma were enrolled and include in the small hepatocellular carcinoma group. In addition, 185 patients with hepatocellular nodules were included in the nodule group. All patients underwent diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI-MRI) to evaluate the morphological performance and ADC value on DWI-MRI. Serum AFP levels were also detected. The accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of DWI-MRI, AFP, and combination of those were compared. The results showed that the diagnostic specificity, sensitivity and accuracy of DWI-MRI combined with serum AFP were significantly higher than that of DWI-MRI, or serum AFP alone (P<0.05). The above results suggest that DWI-MRI combined with serum AFP has significant diagnostic value for small hepatocellular carcinoma, which can provide a practical reference for disease evaluation.
