Abstract: Early diagnosis of epilepsy is of great value for the prognosis. This study investigated the value of EEG in the preoperative diagnosis and postoperative prognosis of patients with epilepsy. We collected 60 patients who were diagnosed as frontal lobe epilepsy as the research objects and conducted a retrospective study. Before and after surgery, patients were checked by head MRI and EEG respectively, and the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the two detection methods were compared. It was found that, compared with MRI examination results, EEG showed higher diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy (P<0.05). In addition, the accuracy of EEG preoperative positioning and intraoperative positioning was higher (P<0.05). The results of EEG examination were consistent with MRI, and the effective rate of postoperative treatment monitored by EEG was 97.14%. In summary, EEG has great application value in the early diagnosis of epilepsy, and it is a reliable and convenient diagnostic method.
