Abstract: In this paper the properties of five types of antioxidants such as phenol (A),biphenol (B),hydroquinone (C),chroman (D) and spirochroman (E) have been studied. Their polarographic oxidation half-wave potential was measured by cyclic vo-Itammetry method, and the reaction rate constant of antioxidants with singlet oxygen was obtained by analogous Stern-Volmer plot. The antifading ability of magenta azo-methine dye image was demonstrated to be more efficient both with decreasing oxidation potential of antioxidants antioxidants with singlet oxygen.of dye image.fading of dyeAmong these and with increasing reaction rate constant of It was further verified the photo-oxidation mecha-antioxidants the order of the effect preventing image is D>E>C>B>A.
