A new polymer was obtained by linear addition polymerization of N,N-diepoxypropyla-niline with piperazine. Some photosensitive systems can be formed from the polymer with polyhalides and can be photocolorized and photocured simultaneously upon irradiating with near UV(300-400 nm). The minimum quantity of exposure energy required for photocuring these systems is 78mJ·cm-8. The absorption peak of the chromophore increases with increasing exposure time and moves from 660 nm to 650 nm. The blue-green image obtained upon irradiating can be developed by dilute acid-water solution. The thioxanthone compounds are used as very effective sensitizers for the systems.

In the present paper,the microwave photoconductivity signal intensity and the photoele-ctron lifetime of the fractionated polydispersed emulsion microcrystals were studied. It was found that with the decrease of grain size and iodide content,the photoconductivity,consequently the concentration of photoelectrons in emulsion microcrystals decreases,indicated the huge difference of different bunches of polydispersed emulsion in electronic conduction properties. The difference in the chemical ripening kinetics and the photographic characteristics of various bunches can be fairly well explained with the data of grain size,iodide content istribution,ionic conductivity,and the electronic properties reported here.

The Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering of N,N'-diethyl quinocyanine molecules adsorbed on silver bromide sols after sulfur sensitization was detected. It was found that the scattering is from the molecules adsorbed on the surface of print-out silver. The enhanced scattering of the dye adsorbed on silver bromide after sulfur sensitization is similar to that on silver sol. The Raman Scattering can not be,detected when silver bromide sols are not sensitized and the print-out silver is oxidized with sodium persulfate. As this experiment shows,the Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering method can be used in the investigation of photographic mechanism.

Molecular oxygen,as an electron acceptor,can interact with many organic compounds to form contact charge transfer complexes (CCT) which have the maxima absorption at longer wavelengths than that of the original components. In this paper,the UV-Vis spectra of more than 30 CCT formed from oxygen with organic compounds,including ethers,alcohols,amines as well as hydrocarbons,were measured by the comparison method. An empirical equation related to the ionization potentials of the organic compounds and the wavelengths of the maxima absorption of CCT was proposed.

) with propene was calculated using Fukui's Intrinsic Reaction Coordinate (IRC) Theory. The calculated results predict that the reaction takes place in steps via a perepoxide intermediate. Through the analysis along the reaction paths of the two elementary reactions,the interactions between reactants,the ste-reochemical path and so on were discussed.

In this paper the properties of five types of antioxidants such as phenol (A),biphenol (B),hydroquinone (C),chroman (D) and spirochroman (E) have been studied. Their polarographic oxidation half-wave potential was measured by cyclic vo-Itammetry method,and the reaction rate constant of antioxidants with singlet oxygen was obtained by analogous Stern-Volmer plot. In this work,the photooxidation of N,N-dimethyl toluidine (DMT) has been investigated by UV-absorption spectrum,rate of conversion,analysis of oxidation products and ESR spec-troscopy etc. According to the results obtained by the methods stated above,the primary process and the auto-oxidation mechanism of DMC were proposed.

The effect of J-aggregate on the electron trapping process by dye positive holes was investigated by means of ESR.The oxidation potentials of dyes studied in this paper are of very close values,but quite different in the decay curves of light-induced ESR signals of these two dyes in AgBr emulsion.This fact could be attributed to the different aggregate state of dye on the AgBr surface.
