Abstract: Electron spin resonance spectroscopic studies were made on the in situ photolyzed samples of four paradiazine N,N’-dioxides prepared. All compounds gave stable nitroxyl radicals,by the photoreduction process,in which these radicals were obtained through abstraction of hydrogen from solvent molecules.Well-resolved ESR s pectra from these radicals were recorded. Also a free radical mechanism for the photoreduction of paradiazine N,N’-dioxides was suggested.
