Abstract: Two compounds of pyrazoline derivatives (PD1, PD2) with different substituents were synthesized. The effects of substituents on their photoluminescence and eletroluminescence were also studied. The results indicate that the fluorescence quantum yield of compound PD2 with methoxy group is higher than that of compound PD1 with the substituents of N,N-dimethlyamino group. But as dopants in organic electroluminescent devices, in which the structure ITO/TPD/TPBI:2%PD/TPBI/Mg:Ag was employed, the device with PD1 as dopant is more effective than that of PD2. In the device with PD1 as dopant, blue emission peak around 487 nm and a luminance of 1224 cd/m2 is achieved at a current density of about 420 mA/cm2. These results are discussed preliminarily.
