Abstract: In this paper two types of siliceous earth were used to make destaining experiments of gelatin. The electron microscope is used to determine the morphological and crystalline state of siliceous earth used. An attempt was made to correlate the destaining capacity and their crystalline state. It was found that the destaining capacity of the siliceous earth is closely related to their morphological structure.
