Abstract: The in situ binding of CoS nanoparticles to gelatin was studied using UV-visible and FT-IR methods at pH 11.00 and different temperatures. The absorbance data were analyzed according to Lineweave-Burk double-reciprocal equation.K,the binding constants of the compound at different temperatures(293 K: 3.01×103L/mol;301 K: 2.12×103 L/mol;313 K: 1.85×103 L/mol) and the thermodynamic parameters(ΔrHm =-17.93 kJ/mol;ΔrSm =4.93 J/K·mol;ΔrGm =-19.37/-19.41/-19.47 kJ/mol) at correspondence temperatures were obtained. The negative enthalpy(ΔrHm) and positive entropy(ΔrSm) values indicate that electrostatic force played the major roles in the binding reaction of nano-CoS with gelatin. The results provide useful information for exploring the chemical mechanism of interaction between nanoparticle and fibrous protein.
