Abstract: N-cyclohexylmaleimide (CHMI) and methy1 methacrylate were used as monomers to copolymerize a heat-resistant resin. In order to use this material for heat-resistant plastic optical fibers (POF), the glass transition temperature and the transparence at different temperature of this copolymer were studied. The method for preparing the preformed rod and the refractive index distribution of the preformed rod were discussed, and the attenuation loss of POF were also discused.
