Abstract: Novel macrophotoinitiator (HTPTH) was synthesized via reaction of α-hydroxy alkylphenones (HAPK),toluene-2,4-diisocynate (TDI),polyethylene glycol 600 (PEG 600),and hydroxy ethyl acrylate (HEA).The reaction was followed using FTIR spectroscopy and the product was confirmed using FTIR.The kinetics for photopolymerization of tripropylene glycol diacrylate (TPGDA) using HTPTH as photoinitiator was studied by photo-DSC.It showed that HTPTH concentration and light intensity have similar effect on photopolymerization. The increase in HTPTH concentration and light intensity led to the increase in the polymerization rate and the final conversion.
