Photopolymerization Properties of 1,2-Epoxy-4-epoxyethylcyclohexane Cationic Monomers

Abstract: The photopolymerization property of TTA22 monomer was studied by IT-IR. The influence of photo-initiator concentration, light intensity and UV-light source on the polymerization property was investigated. Also, the polymerization property of different monomer was studied by comparing with TTA21 monomer. The results showed that the epoxy group conversion and polymerization rate of TTA22 were increased with the increase of photo-initiator concentration and light intensity. The epoxy group conversion and polymerization rate of TTA22 under LED light source was lower than under UV mercury lamp. The thermostability analysis of the cured material of TTA21 and TTA22 37 showed that TTA21 was more stable than TTA22.
