Abstract: Two new ligands,N-(6-aminopyridine-2-yl)-9-anthracenecarbonamide (L1) and N,N’-(pyridine-2,6-yl)-bis (9-anthracenecarbonamide) (L2),and the novel copper (I) complex of L1,[CuL1 (PPh3)2] (BF4) (1),have been synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of L2 and 1 were determined by single crystal Xray analysis, which show that the carbonyl (C=O) group in 1 is coordinated to the copper (I) ion through the oxygen atom.In addition, the spectroscopic properties of L1 and 1 were studied at room temperature.
